Ruta por Lanzarote en 7 days

This 7-day Lanzarote route groups the island by area: an easy arrival, the north, volcanic landscapes, La Geria and the south, La Graciosa, Famara, then a flexible final day. It is an editorial plan for one week, separate from the itinerary of our published 6-day trip. If arrival and departure take most of two days, you have five full sightseeing days and will need to drop some stops.

Sergio spent June to October 2024 in Lanzarote. He remembers frequent wind and comfortable temperatures even through summer. That experience is why we leave room to swap a beach for a village, art or vineyards as conditions change. It does not mean he followed this exact day-by-day route.

The week at a glance

  • Day 1: arrive and spend the first afternoon near your chosen base.
  • Day 2: Cueva de los Verdes, Jameos del Agua, Haría and Mirador del Río, choosing what fits.
  • Day 3: Montañas del Fuego, El Golfo, Los Hervideros and Janubio salt pans.
  • Day 4: La Geria, Yaiza and an afternoon in the south or at Papagayo.
  • Day 5: ferry from Órzola to La Graciosa, giving it a full day.
  • Day 6: Famara and Teguise, or a free day if the north took longer.
  • Day 7: César Manrique Foundation or Jardín de Cactus only if your flight allows it.

Grouping nearby stops avoids crossing the island again and again. This is a text route, not a navigation map: the order and reservations must fit your real accommodation, opening times and available days.

Lanzarote day by day

Day 1 · Arrival and your base

Collect a car if it is part of your plan, settle in and choose a nearby walk. We would avoid a timed visit this afternoon until the flight and car collection are known. One base for the week avoids changing rooms; its location depends on the accommodation confirmed.

Day 2 · The north and volcanic tunnel

Group Cueva de los Verdes and Jameos del Agua, then choose Haría, Punta Mujeres or Mirador del Río according to pace and visibility. You do not need to race through every centre. CACT’s official guidance requires an online date and time reservation for Cueva de los Verdes. Check availability before building the rest of the day.

Day 3 · Timanfaya and the west coast

Book Montañas del Fuego at a time that suits your departure, then continue towards El Golfo, Los Hervideros and Janubio if daylight allows. CACT also requires an online dated time slot for Montañas del Fuego. The visitor centre admission does not mean you can drive freely through the national park. If a stop is closed or the wind makes the coast uncomfortable, keep the volcanic focus and skip the extra stop.

Day 4 · La Geria, Yaiza and the south

Give the morning to La Geria’s vineyard landscape and book a winery only if you really want time there. Continue via Yaiza and save the afternoon for a beach or walk in the south. Papagayo can fit, but check access and track conditions; it need not be compulsory late in the day.

Day 5 · La Graciosa

Drive to Órzola and sail to Caleta de Sebo. Líneas Romero quotes about 25 minutes for the crossing, subject to actual schedules and conditions. Allow time to park, board and return. On the island, choose a walk, beach or local transport to suit the wind and your mobility. The ferry and activities need separate confirmation; mention here does not make them included in the UKIYO trip.

Day 6 · Famara and Teguise at a slower pace

This is the extra day compared with our published 6-day trip. Famara is rewarding for a walk and views of the cliffs, though wind and sea conditions can make swimming unsuitable. Teguise offers streets and an unhurried lunch. If the northern visits already took longer, use this as breathing room instead of adding miles to complete a checklist.

Day 7 · Art or departure

With a late flight, choose the César Manrique Foundation or Jardín de Cactus before returning the car. With an early flight, day 7 is simply for leaving. Put the visits you most care about on days 2 to 6, rather than saving them all for the end.

How the 7-day guide relates to UKIYO’s 6-day trip

UKIYO’s published Lanzarote and La Graciosa trip lasts 6 days and 5 nights, with one base and a prepared sequence covering the north, volcanoes, La Geria, the south and La Graciosa. This article adds an editorial day for Famara and Teguise or a gentler pace. If you want that seventh day, nights, accommodation, car hire and services need checking for your dates. It is not an already approved 7-day departure or price.

Three choices to make before booking

  • Tickets and ferry: check official times and conditions for Timanfaya, Cueva de los Verdes and the boat before fixing the day order.
  • Wind and beaches: leave at least one afternoon flexible; our best time to visit Lanzarote guide explains the seasons.
  • Budget and inclusions: tickets, ferry and activities are not included merely because they appear here. Ask for an itemised proposal for your dates and check the services stated on the 6-day trip page.

Tell us how many full days you have, where you would like to stay and which visits matter most. We can check whether the prepared 6-day route fits or whether you need a 7-day design with different nights and services.
