Organised or tailor-made trip? How to choose with UKIYO

An organised trip starts from a route and services already described. A tailor-made trip starts from your needs and is designed from the ground up. With UKIYO you can explore a prepared trip and discuss what can be adapted, or ask us to create a different route for you. The right choice depends on how much of the itinerary you want to define before we begin.

Neither option tells you, on its own, whether a trip is private, shared, accompanied or tied to fixed dates. Those details belong to the specific trip and proposal. Here is how to compare the two ways of working.

01 · Prepared tripsStart with a route you can understand

Our prepared trips show the destination, route and available information in one place. They give you a concrete starting point: you can see what appeals to you, ask about dates and accommodation, and understand which parts can be adjusted. Some changes may require a new quote or a different design; the published page is not a promise that every element is interchangeable.

02 · From scratchWhen tailor-made design makes sense

If your priorities call for a different route, destination mix, accommodation or supplier from the prepared options, we design the trip from scratch. We begin with your dates, travel companions, budget, interests and preferred pace; then we test whether the route and logistics make sense before presenting a proposal.

This takes more research and decisions than choosing an existing route. The design work is included in the final trip price per person; the proposal explains what that price covers. We do not present an unverified supplier, hotel or activity as confirmed.

03 · ChoiceWhat can you change?

In a prepared trip, ask which dates, stays and activities are flexible and what a change would mean for the price. In a trip designed from scratch, more choices are open at the start, but they still depend on availability, sensible transfers and the suppliers that can actually deliver them.

04 · ProposalRead the inclusions before comparing prices

Compare the same things on both proposals: number of travellers, room basis, travel period, transport, accommodation, meals, activities and what is excluded. A “from” price is useful only when its dates and conditions fit your trip. Ask how international flights and any optional services are treated in your specific proposal.

  • Which route and nights are included?
  • Is the trip private, shared or accompanied?
  • Which accommodation and room category are proposed?
  • What transport and activities are included, optional or excluded?
  • What support is available before and during travel?

05 · Your prioritiesWhich option fits you?

Choose a prepared trip when its route already fits the places and pace you want and the available adaptations are enough. Choose a trip designed from scratch when the central decisions are still open or a change would make it a genuinely different journey. Neither is automatically better: the useful question is which one gives you clarity before committing.

06 · Next stepBring us the part you already know

You do not need a complete itinerary to start. Explore the current trips or tell us what you have in mind: dates, budget, who is travelling and the places that matter to you. We can then suggest a prepared route or explain why a new design would serve you better.
