Planning 15 days for Colombia? The route UKIYO has published covers 14 days and 13 nights in the country. It starts in Medellin, continues through Nuquí, the Coffee Region and Providencia, then ends around Tayrona and Cartagena. Bogotá is not part of this route.
This guide starts from that itinerary. The extra day in a 15-day trip has not been assigned: depending on flights, it may be the journey home or give more time to one stage. We are not presenting a fixed 15-day product. Connections, accommodation and services in the published trip are still being prepared.
01 · The routeThe 13 nights already mapped out
Medellin 1 → Nuquí 2 → Medellin 1 → Filandia 1 → Salento 2 → Providencia 2 → Tayrona area 2 → Cartagena 2. The second Medellin stay follows Nuquí. The two nights on the nature-focused Caribbean coast are around Tayrona; they are not three nights in Santa Marta city.
02 · Day by dayHow the published route is divided
Day 1 · Medellin · 1 night
The route begins in Medellin. Arrival time determines how much of the city you can see; this first night is also the starting point for the Pacific coast.
Days 2–3 · Nuquí · 2 nights
Reaching Nuquí takes part of day 2. The following day stays on the Pacific coast without changing base. Flights, the transfer to your accommodation and any boat journey need checking for your dates.
Day 4 · Back to Medellin · 1 night
The itinerary returns to Medellin before continuing to the Coffee Region. This night should not be counted as another full day of city sightseeing; it depends on the departure times from Nuquí.
Day 5 · Filandia · 1 night
Filandia starts the coffee-country section. The journey from Medellin and the still-to-be-confirmed transport affect what can fit into the day.
Days 6–7 · Salento · 2 nights
The trip changes base within the Coffee Region and spends two nights in Salento. A coffee farm, a walk or Cocora Valley should be chosen around the actual time available and confirmed services. Mentioning them here does not mean they are included.
Days 8–9 · Providencia · 2 nights
Providencia is the island stage. San Andrés is being considered as an air connection, without an overnight stay in the base route. Flight times, baggage and connection margins must be checked before treating the journey from the Coffee Region as a simple one-day transfer.
Days 10–11 · Tayrona area · 2 nights
The planned base is around Tayrona, rather than three nights in Santa Marta. Arrival from Providencia and entry to the park are separate decisions. Colombia’s National Parks authority publishes access conditions and closure periods to check for your dates; park entry is not assumed to be included.
Days 12–14 · Cartagena · 2 nights and departure
Day 12 connects Tayrona and Cartagena. Day 13 is the full day in the city, and day 14 closes the route in Colombia. International flight times affect how much of that last day is available.
03 · Your extra dayWhat changes if you have 15 days
First, decide whether your 15 days include travel from home or mean 15 full days in Colombia. An overnight international flight may bring you home the following day, but this cannot be fixed without the actual flight itinerary. If you have a full extra day in the country, we would place it after checking connections: it might protect a fragile transfer or give more time to a stage that matters to you. No unconfirmed extra night or service is added to the 14-day trip.
04 · Before enquiringThe connections that must work
The published sequence requires a careful look at Medellin–Nuquí, the Coffee Region–Providencia transition and the journey from Providencia towards Tayrona. Transfers, accommodation, meals, activities and inclusions also need to be confirmed for your dates. The map shows the order of stages, not guaranteed schedules or reservations.
If this mix of Pacific coast, coffee country and islands appeals to you, see the 14-day Colombia trip and tell us your dates and whether your 15 days are total travel days or days in the country. We can then decide where that extra day belongs and prepare a proposal based on verified services.
05 · QuestionsWhat to know before deciding
Does the route include Bogotá?
No. The published itinerary starts in Medellin. Adding Bogotá would change stages and transfers and would be treated as a different design.
Are there three nights in Santa Marta?
No. The base route has two nights around Tayrona. The exact accommodation and park access still need validation.
Are flights, hotels and activities confirmed?
The sequence and 13 nights are mapped out. Connections, accommodation, services and availability are checked before a proposal is made for specific dates.
